Hodge Podge of Life

Life is busy with 3 littles girls. It's starting to sink into a rhythm though. Lucy is sleeping in a pretty consistent pattern at night. I'm usually only up twice with her! She's starting to smile and coo a lot more, to the delight of everyone, especially her big sisters! Baby girl will be 2 months old on Sunday!! How does time go by so fast when you have a newborn?? Can I still call her a newborn?

In addition to all the new routine changes, I added potty training Libby to the mix. Am I nuts? Glutton for punishment? Ha. Maybe. But so far so good. She seems to be getting the hang of it. This is perhaps due to the fact that she is extremely motivated by jelly beans. I guess that's one of the bonuses of not giving your kids candy normally. It's such a novelty for her now! She can squeeze out a few drops every half hour if need be to get that "Delly bean!" Hopefully that will translate soon into a general desire to take care of all that business the way us other "potty trained" folks do. I remind myself that I did successfully potty train one girl already, so it can be done!

Anyway, here are some pics of the general events over the last month or so.

  1. So adorable, Jana! Good luck on the potty training! You're braver than me - I'm planning on starting with Ezra soon in the hopes that he'll be pretty well set before baby's here! He's a little young, but I think he's ready, and I really didn't want to be potty training with a new baby! =)

    1. Thanks, Annaleah! I wish you well with training. :) I had hoped to have Libby trained before Lucy arrived, but we were traveling a lot. The season just wasn't right. It is tricky with a new baby, since we waited longer, Libby is really picking it up quickly. I hope your little guy is a quickly study too!

  2. Oh it's been so long since I visited your blog! These are such beautiful pictures! I have NOT been consistent with Ariana. It's so funny, she prefers her big sister to take her! But she does amazing when we are out and I am hoping that will translate (soon) into more consistency when we are home. I hope your little one continues to do well!

I DID want to let you know that I nominated you for the Beautiful Mama Blog Award. :) I figured IF you had some extra time on your hands, it would be fun to hear your reflections on the best part of motherhood! Besides, you are a beautiful mama, and it shows!

    1. Libby has really taken off with the potty thing, thankfully. We went on a couple LONG drives lately, and not ONE accident. I thought that was rather miraculous. :) ha!

What is the Beautiful Mama Blog Award? I'm honored but out of the loop! :)
