Super easy craft!

I got this tip from a girlfriend of mine yesterday and immediately went home to try it out! And why not? It didn't require buying anything, and it took less than 5 minutes!

The Old T-Shirt Scarf!
Step 1: scrounge up one of the husband's old t-shirts that really should be retired anyway. ;)
Step 2: cut it straight across, just below the armpits. Do the same thing just above the bottom hem. You should now have one big circle of fabric.
Step 3: stretch! I stepped on one end and pulled up with my hands on the other end.
Step 4: wrap around your neck a few times and enjoy!

Cute, cute, cute!

So what does a mommy of two little ones under 3 do when she needs a shower? Well, this mommy corrals them in the bathroom with her. Sometimes this works out better than other times.

Today, my girls were adorable! Libby snuggled down on a towel, and Evie proceeded to cover her with all the bath mats for a "nap." Little sister Libby actually enjoyed it! She stayed there for a good 5 minutes (an eternity in 1 year old time, right?). Then they both cuddled up. Too cute!

Bakings!

We've been trying to eat less white flour and sugar lately. After reading Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon again recently, I'm convinced (again) that the white versions of sugar and flour are NOT so good for us. (though they are oh-so-delicious and my favorite things to bake with!)

Thus these scones...whole wheat cinnamon current! Yum! And baked with sucanat, an unrefined sugar. I believe it is actually dehydrated sugar cane juice--just the straight stuff! Unlike white sugar, which has all of the good-for-you stuff stripped out of it, sucanat still has all of the naturally occurring vitamins and minerals.

So, guilt free baking, right?

Projects

I love sewing squares and rectangles! Easy & quick = nearly instant gratification! Anyway, I finally got around to making a sheet for Libby's crib, which was a Craigslist find and didn't come with one. Loved the fabric!

Trying out the new technology

So, I got a new iPhone! … And I admit that I am hooked. Now I want to see what it can do to help me blog more often.

So, here are a few pics from the trip the girls and I recently took to the Oregon Museum of science and industry. I was super impressed with how much Evelyn enjoyed the place. They have a great set up for little ones.

Liberty Faith

Born August 27th, 7 lbs 1 oz, 19 3/4 inches long.
The little girl surprised us all, mommy especially! I thought for sure she was going to be a boy! So much for motherly intuition! She arrived late in the evening after a short labor (thank you, Lord!). So far, our little family is adjusting well (after getting over a nasty bout of stomach flu!). Evie loves "baby wib-uh-tee" and likes to keep me posted on whether or not she's "coo-eye-ing." (crying) Thank you all for your prayers for her safe delivery.
